Bayern began their campaign with a 3-2 win at FK Crvena Zvezda. Toni Kroos, the 17-year-old sensation scored the winner in added time to give the German team a fine start in their campaign. Kroos came on for Mark van Bommel and helped Bayern recover from a 2-1 deficit. His free-kick allowed Klose to equalize in the 86th minute, while he scored the winner in added time.
Bayern Munich manager Ottmar Hitzfeld has hailed the teenager as a prodigy and has said he is a future international. Bolton's visit may not be much of a bother for Bayern, but then they will need to win to put the points on board. Bayern are on top of Group F with three points from one game played so far.
Bolton have had a horror start to their season. Languishing in the bottom of the Premier League, the Wanderers sacked their coach Sammy Lee and have brought in Megson, who faces a tough test at Bayern. Bolton drew their first game in the UEFA Cup 1-1 at home against SC Braga.
Injuries have also hit the team as Bolton defender Nicky Hunt could be out for a long time after suffering a dislocated shoulder. The 24-year-old suffered the injury in the 1-1 draw against West Ham at Upton Park. Bolton are third in Group F with one point from one game.
