The Scottish side held Bayern to a 2-2 draw at the Pittodrie on February 14 with the hosts twice taking the lead only for Bayern to equalize on both occasions. While the German giants do have the advantage of two away goals, Aberdeen fans will be hopeful of a victory at the Allianz Arena on Thursday.

A highly entertaining first half was given a push in the right direction when Josh Walker put the hosts in the lead on 24 minutes, latching on to a great pass by Sone Aluko. Bayern responded immediately with an equalizer five minutes later when Klose was played in by Luca Toni's flick on and the German international made no mistake from close range.

Aluko restored Aberdeen's lead four minutes from the half time whistle, racing forward to meet Lee Miller's flicked pass to slot the ball past Michael Rensing. Bayern came out in the second half with all guns blazing and the pressure finally told on Aberdeen with the visitors being awarded a penalty for handball and though Langfield managed to block the initial penalty kick, Hamit Altıntop pounced on the rebound to equalize for Bayern.

Bayern Munich will be confident of getting the required result at the Allianz Arena with Aberdeen yet to win a match on German soil in nine attempts and the German giants yet to lose to a Scottish side at home. The winners of the tie will meet either Anderlecht or Bordeaux in the next round.
