Barnet narrowly escaped relegation to the Conference last season. They finished 21^st in the 24 team League Two, just four points above bottom of the table Darlington.

Arsenal on the other hand finished third in the Premier League behind Chelsea and Manchester United. Gunners boss Arsene Wenger has already made two summer signings in the form of Marouane Chamakh and Laurent Koscielny as he aims to create a side capable of breaking the club’s long title drought.

The two sides also met at Underhill last July in a friendly. The game ended in a 2-2 draw. Russian star Andrei Arshavin netted the opener shortly before the break, only for Ismail Yakubu to nod in an equaliser minutes later for Barnet. Youngster Nacer Barazite put Arsenal back ahead, but Elliot Charles gave Barnet a point with his 83^rd minute strike. That game also marked the debut of Belgian defender Thomas Vermaelen.
