The Catalans are on top of the pile in La Liga having garnered 23 points from 9 games played so far. Last week, they were held to a 1-1 draw by Osasuna as Gerard Pique netted in an own goal in the dying seconds of the game. Seydou Keita's strike on 72 minutes had given Barca the lead and seemingly the tie as well before Pique's infamous intervention. Barcelona were also held to a 0-0 draw by Rubin Kazan in the Champions League during the midweek following their shock loss to the Russian champions a fortnight ago.

Coach Pep Guardiola will hope his side can put the two draws behind them and collect all three points from this one. He will be buoyed by the return of Thierry Henry and Dani Alves from injury, but ill be without defenders Dmytro Chygrynskiy and Gabriel Milito for this game.

Meanwhile Mallorca will hope to break into the top four with a win over the defending champions. Last week they beat Racing Santander by a 1-0 margin to climb to the fifth spot on the league table. Pierre Webo's 18th-minute goal was the difference between the two sides even as the home side notched up their fifth successive home win this season.

Manager Gregorio Manzano will have a full strength squad to choose from for this one and will hope his players can take advantage of Barca's recent weak performances.
