After a brief dip in form, Barcelona have bounced back in a perfect fashion by winning their last four matches and with Real Madrid not playing until Sunday, coach Josep Guardiola will be keen to see his side extend their lead at the top of the league table to nine points.

Barcelona go into the match on the back of a hard fought 1-0 win against Valladolid in their last game with Samuel Eto'o scoring the only goal of the match five minutes before the half time whistle.

Recreativo on the other hand have not tasted victory in their last four matches, three of which have ended in defeats and coach Lucas Alcaraz will be hoping that his side will manage to turn the form in the final nine matches as he looks to pull his side out of the relegation zone.

Recreativo were beaten 1-0 by Sevilla last weekend thanks to a 32nd minute goal by Frederic Kanoute from the penalty spot. The defeat meant that Alcaraz's side was unable to take advantage of Getafe's slip up against Valencia.

Barcelona have an excellent record against Recreativo in the league, winning six of the last seven meetings between the two sides and have already registered a 2-0 win early this season with Messi and Seydou Keita on target for the Catalan giants.
