The defending champions are off to an excellent start this season by winning their first five games. However with arch rivals Real Madrid's latest galacticos policy working at the moment, any dropped points this weekend could prove to be very costly for Barcelona as they attempt to successfully defend their title.

Barcelona registered their fifth straight victory last weekend as they cruised to a comfortable 2-0 win away to Malaga. Zlatan Ibrahimovic opened the scoring with his fifth goal in as many matches in the 39th minute while Gerard Pique wrapped up the game with a second goal midway through the second half. Thierry Henry is a major doubt for the game after the French international injured himself during the game against Malaga last weekend. However midfielder Andres Iniesta is very close to a comeback and the Spanish midfielder could be placed on the bench with Guardiola insisting that Iniesta will not be rushed back into action.

Meanwhile Almeria will be hoping to avoid another thrashing against Barcelona after suffering one of their biggest defeats at Camp Nou last season. Samuel Eto'o scored a hat trick for Barca while Thierry Henry and Daniel Alves were also on target as Barcelona completely dominated Almeria. Having finished at a respectable 11th place last season, Almeria coach Hugo Sanchez will be happy with his side's decent start to the season and will be hoping to spring a surprise on Saturday that could kick start their challenge to finish inside the top half of the league table.
