Meanwhile Villarreal will be hoping to close down the gap between themselves and Barcelona to four points as they look to achieve their highest ever La Liga position in their history. Villarreal are undefeated in their last five matches and have an impressive away record, winning seven of their 12 matches on road.

Pascal Cygan, Cani, Fabricio Fuentes and Giuseppe Rossi are yet to recover from their injuries and coach Manuel Pellegrini will be hoping that his side will be able to repeat the performance that saw Villarreal thrash Barca 3-1 early this season.
