A poor run of form has seen Barcelona collect just one point from their last three matches and Villarreal close down the gap to just two points with 10 games still to be played. Barca suffered successive defeats to Atletico Madrid and Villarreal and were unable to take advantage of Real Madrid's slip up against Deportivo La Coruna.

The draw leaves Barca seven points short of Real Madrid at the top of the table and the Catalan giants will have to win all of their remaining matches if they are to have any hopes of winning the league.

Meanwhile Valladolid fans will be hopeful that their side will be able to take advantage of Barcelona's poor form and come away with a vital point as they struggle to keep out of the relegation zone.

Valladolid are currently positioned 17th in the league table with 32 points from 28 matches, level on points with Recreativo Huelva. Both the teams shared the points in the reverse fixture early this season as Valladolid held Barcelona to a 1-1 draw in November last year.
