German club Schalke face a near impossible task of beating Barcelona in the second leg of their Champions League quarter final clash at the Camp Nou if they are to have any hopes of pulling off an upset and qualify for the semi final for the first time in over four decades.

Barcelona registered a narrow 1-0 win over Schalke in the first leg with teenage striker Bojan grabbing the winner early in the 12th minute. Schalke will now have to beat a Barcelona team that is undefeated in 34 European matches after taking the lead in the first leg.

The last time that Barca lost after taking a first leg lead was back in 1984 when FC Metz beat them 4-1 and went on to win the round 6-5 on aggregate. The Catalan giants are yet to taste defeat in Europe this season and have won all of their four matches played at Camp Nou, conceding just one goal in the process.

Schalke on the other hand have won just one match on the road this season, beating Rosenborg 2-0 in the group stage. That was also the only time when Mirko Slomka's side scored away from home. While this is the first time that Schalke are playing Barcelona at Camp Nou, the German club's previous visit to Barcelona yielded in a 3-0 victory against Espanyol in the UEFA Cup Round of 32. The winner of the quarter final will play against either Roma or Manchester United in the semi final with the first leg scheduled to be played at home on April 23.
