Azerbaijan will go into their final Euro 2008 qualifier against Belgium on quite a low after having lost to Finland despite having taken an early lead. Makhmud Gurbonov had given the Azerbaijan team the lead in the 63rd minute, but Finland recovered in the last 11 minutes and won the game thanks to goals from Mikael Forssell and Shefki Kuqi.

Azerbaijan are at the bottom of Group A and will look to leapfrog Kazakhstan in their final game against Belgium at the Tofikh Bakhramov-Republic Stadium in Baku. New Azerbaijan coach Gjoko Hadzievski who replaced Shakhin Diniyev last week would have been disappointed to lose the Finland match and will look to sign off his team's Euro 2008 qualifying campaign on a high note.

PFC Neftchi duo Rashad F. Sadygov and Zaur Tagizade make as return to the Azerbaijan squad after a long time as does the country's leading scorer Zaur Ramazanov for the game against Belgium.

Belgium will also be playing for pride as they are out of the race for Euro 2008 finals following their 2-0 loss to Poland at the Slaski Stadium in Chorzow on November 17. Goals from Euzebiusz Smolarek won the match for Poland and secured their ticket to the finals in Austria and Switzerland as well.

Belgium Coach René Vandereycken will want to end up as high as possible on the Group A tables and toward this end has named a strong squad to take on Azerbaijan. KSC Lokeren OV midfielder Killian Overmeire, who was a part of the Belgium team that reached the semi-finals of the UEFA European Under-21 Championship earlier this year, has been called up into the side.

RC Lens striker Luigi Pieroni and FC Twente striker Stijn Huysegems are back in the side, while Swerts is out with a knee injury.
