Serbia bounced back from their shock defeat to Ghana in their opening group match to pull off an upset of their own as Milan Jovanovic’s goal in the first half was enough to claim all three points against Germany.

The victory gives Serbia a great chance of progressing to the next round with coach Radomir Antic aware that his side will book a place in the knockout stage if they defeat Australia regardless of the result between Ghana and Germany.

Australia on the other hand need a minor miracle to secure a place in the next round. Their heavy defeat against Germany means that Australia will have to beat Serbia by a big margin for them to finish second in the group.
