Atletico Madrid will be looking to maintain their recent return to form and book a place in the Europa League with a comfortable victory over Porto when the two teams clash in their next Champions League match on Tuesday. Having won just one of their 11 domestic league games, and without a win in their Champions League campaign, Atletico have won their last two matches to move into the top half of the Spanish league table. Coach Quique Sanchez Flores will be hopeful that his side can maintain their winning streak on Tuesday as he looks to extend Atletico’s European campaign into the Europa League. Atletico are currently third in the group table with just three points from their five games.

The Spanish side will have to match Nicosia’s result on Tuesday and with the Cypriot team facing a youthful Chelsea side, Atletico need to beat Porto in order to keep their Europa League hopes in their own hands.

Porto are expected to rest a number of key players having already booked a place in the knockout stage on Matchday 4. The Portuguese side secured a narrow 2-0 win over Atletico early in the campaign thanks to late goals from Falcao and Rolando.

Atletico will be without Florent Sinama Pongolle and Tomas Ujfalusi who are out of action due to injuries. However Paulo Assuncao is expected to return to the starting lineup after missing out the 1-1 draw against APOEL Nicosia due to suspension.
