Pressure has been steadily building on manager Abel Resino following a poor start to the season with Atletico currently sitting 15th in the league table with six points from their first seven games.

With the club also struggling in their Champions League campaign, Resino will be aware that he has very little time to turn his side's form around if he is to remain at the helm of affairs at Vicente Calderon.

Atletico suffered their third defeat of the season as they were completely outplayed by Osasuna in their last match. Walter Pandiani opened the scoring for Osasuna early in the 4th minute and the Uruguayan striker added his second midway through the first half before Carlos Aranda wrapped up the points on the half hour mark with a third goal.

Atletico followed up the result with another disappointing performance as they crashed to a 4-0 defeat away to Chelsea in their Champions League match on Wednesday. The defeat sees Atletico slip to the foot of their group table and the club will have to put up a vastly improved performance if it is to finish at least third and extend their European campaign into the Europa League.

Mallorca coach Gregorio Manzano on the other hand will be looking to take full advantage of Atletico's poor run of form and collect all three points from the game. The Barralets are off to a good start to the new season and sit fifth in the league table with 13 points from their first seven games.
