The Blues are one of the four teams to boast a perfect record in the competition so far and manager Carlo Ancelotti will be keen to extend that record to four games. Ancelotti's side followed up on that convincing victory by smashing in nine goals in their two domestic games. With Atletico struggling badly for form, Chelsea start the game as clear favorites to secure a win though Ancelotti will be wary of complacency as he looks to do away with the distraction of Europe for the next four months and concentrate on consolidating their position at the top of the Premier League table.

Atletico on the other hand will be hoping that the arrival of coach Quique Sanchez Flores will provide a much needed spark to their season as they look to overcome a horrible start to the season. Just one point from their first three matches has seen Atletico sit at the foot of their group table. The Los Colchoneros are in great danger of a humiliating exit from the competition with the club now struggling to even finish third that could see them qualify for the Europa League.
