Atletico Madrid start their Champions League group stage campaign with one of their easiest games of the season when they welcome tournament debutants Apoel Nicosia to Vicente Calderon on Tuesday. Catch all the live streaming soccer by signing up with us here on Live Sport Network

The Cypriot champions qualified for the group stages of the competition for the first time in their history with an excellent performance against FC Copenhagen in the play-off round. Apoel lost the first leg 1-0 in Denmark but a brace from Chrysostomous Michail and another goal by Kamil Kosowski helped Apoel cruise to a historic 3-1 win to progress to the group stages.

While Apoel Nicosia are expected to finish at the bottom of the group table, manager Ivan Jovanovic will be delighted with his side's performances so far and will be backing his players to play an important role in who progresses to the next round.

Atletico on the other hand will have to avoid any slip-ups against Apoel if they are to have any hopes of repeating last season's performance of qualifying to the knockout stages. Having finished fourth in the league last season, Atletico have qualified for the UEFA Champions League for a second successive year and manager Abel Resino will be aware that his side will have to be at its best throughout the group stage in order to progress to the knockout round.

The Spanish club had a comfortable play-off round, beating Greek side Panathinaikos in both the legs and progressing to the group stage with a 5-2 aggregate. Sergio Aguero was the top scorer for Atletico with a goal in each match and though Atletico have got a tough game against Barcelona on Sunday, Resino is expected to field his strongest side against Apoel on Tuesday.
