Atletico Madrid will be looking to start winning once again when they welcome Valladolid this weekend as the La Liga resumes following the international break for the Euro 2008 qualifiers. Atletico drew 0-0 at Almeria last time and will hope to get back to their winning ways this weekend.

On the other hand Real Valladolid will be looking to maintain their winning streak when they face Atletico Madrid in their next La Liga clash on Sunday.

The newly promoted side has had a good start to the season, sitting 14th in the league table with 13 points from 12 matches. José Luis Mendilibar's side has won their last two matches against Levante and Zaragoza and have not tasted defeat in their last four outings.

With the club sitting far away from the relegation zone, Mendilibar will be looking to avoid a drop in form midway through the season and maintain their current position come the end of the season.

Atletico Madrid will be looking for a quick return to form with the club collecting just one point from their last two games. Atletico have overcome a poor start to the season to rise up to sixth place in the table and manager Javier Aguirre will be looking to maintain the position come the final third of the season.

Atletico were held to a disappointing 0-0 draw in their last match against newly promoted Almeria and fans will be hoping for a vastly improved performance against Valladolid.

Athletico Madrid are sixth on the La Liga table with 21 points from 12 games, while Valladolid are 14^th with 13 points from 12 games.

Last time these two teams met was in the 2003-04 season when Atletico sneaked in a 2-1 victory in this fixture.
