Atletico had yet another disappointing outing last weekend as they were held to a 1-1 draw by Mallorca. The Los Colchoneros looked to have turned the tide in their first game after the sacking of Abel Resino when Diego Forlan made amends to his missed penalty early in the game by converting another seven minutes into the second half.

However Borja Valero had other ideas as the Mallorca midfielder scoring an equalizer late in injury time to snatch a point for his side.

The result came as a blow to Atletico who now slip to 17th in the league table and fans will be hopeful that new coach Quique Sanchez Flores can work his magic and rescue Atletico's season which is threatening to be one of the worst in recent years.

Meanwhile Athletic Bilbao will be hoping to take advantage of Madrid's poor run of form and avenge their heavy 4-1 defeat in this fixture last season. Diego Forlan had scored a second half hat trick for Atletico who completely dominated the game though the Vicente Calderon faithful will be satisfied even if their side manages to sneak in a narrow in on Saturday.

Bilbao are going through a rough patch of their own and have managed to collect just one point from their last five games. The poor run of form has seen the club destroy its excellent start to the season that had seen them win their first three games and fans will be hopeful that their side can bounce back pretty soon as they look to improve on their 13th placed finish last season.
