Claudio Ranieri’s Juventus are riding high after last week’s thrilling home victory over title rivals AC Milan. The victory consolidated them in second place in the Serie A table, six points behind Inter Milan. Last Sunday Juventus enjoyed a momentous victory over fellow title contenders AC Milan and the 4-2 score line shows that it was an exciting affair. They did manage to equalise in the 31^st minute, but that lead lasted just four minutes and from then it was all downhill. Juventus scored again to go into half time with a 3-1 cushion and with Milan offering a brief glimpse of a comeback by pulling one goal back, Juve wrapped it up in the 69^th minute.

The remarkable thing is that Juventus are managing to keep on the tails of Inter despite having no less than ten players out for various reasons. This won’t change for Sunday’s trip to Atalanta but the way Juve have been playing lately, it’s not really going to make much difference.

For their part, Atalanta are sitting in seventh position in the league with a respectable 24 points. Last weekend they earned a 1-1 draw away to Genoa but were a bit unlucky in the fact that the home team equalised in the 87^th minute.
