Just six points from their last 10 matches has seen Bolton slip deep into the relegation zone with Gary Megson's side now four points away from safety. Bolton have lost seven of their last eight matches and Megson will have to turn things around very quickly if his side is to have any chances of avoiding the drop.

Bolton had looked on course for a famous victory over Arsenal last weekend after taking a 2-0 lead in the first half and with Gunners being reduced to 10 men. But a brilliant come back by Arsenal saw them three goals in the final half hour, including an own goal by Jlloyd Samuel, as Bolton slumped to yet another defeat.

Aston Villa too are going through a lean patch of their own after suffering three successive defeats in the league. Villa have collected just two points from their last five matches, losing ground to their opponents in the race for a European place next season.

A major concern for manager Martin O'Neill will be the inability of his players to find the back of the net with Villa firing blanks in their last three matches. Though it is still possible for Villa to end the season with a European finish, O'Neill's side will have to put up a vastly improved performance for the remainder of the season in order to achieve that aim.
