Tottenham Hotspur fans will be hoping that new manager Harry Redknapp will weave his magic once again on Wednesday as they look for their first league win over Arsenal in more than five years. Redknapp made an instant impact for Tottenham on Sunday as he guided them to their first league win of the season in less than 24 hours after being appointed as the Spurs manager. Though reserve team coach Clive Allen picked the starting line up, Redknapp was soon in the dugout as he encouraged his side after they took an early lead in the first half through Roman Pavlyuchenko before Darren Bent secured the points by doubling the lead with just 14 minutes left for the final whistle.

Though Tottenham continue to remain at the bottom of the table, defeats to Newcastle United, Stoke City and Bolton Wanderers meant that Spurs have now closed down the gap between themselves and safety to just three points.

 

 

However Spurs are not expected to get any points against Arsenal on Wednesday with Tottenham managing to collect just four points in the last 10 league meetings between the two sides.

Arsenal will be looking to avenge their 5-1 defeat to Spurs in the Carling Cup early this year and will be hoping to complete another double over their arch rivals after beating them 2-1 in this fixture last season.
