Arsenal have done reasonably well in Europe although their domestic campaign has been hampered by reports of internal strife. Manager Arsene Wenger is currently dealing with a crisis at the Emirates after former skipper William Gallas bad-mouthed his team mates saying they were not brave.

Wenger was forced to strip Gallas off his captaincy and there are questions over his stay at Arsenal. Reports indicate he may be on his way back to France in January.

 

 

Arsenal fans though will only be concerned with what's going on at the Emirates on Tuesday night. The Gunners started off with a 1-1 draw at Dynamo Kyiv with the much-maligned Gallas scoring the equalizer. They followed this up with a 4-0 mauling over Porto and then a 5-2 win over Fenerbahce, before being held to a 0-0 draw in the return leg. Arsenal still have problems as midfielder Thomas Rosciky and striker Eduardo remain sidelined. Furthermore Theo Walcott's untimely shoulder injury has hurt Wenger's plans.

Meanwhile Kyiv will need a win here if they are to stay competitive in the group. A loss here coupled with a win for Porto will eliminate them. The Ukrainian team began with a 1-1 draw at home to Arsenal. This was followed by a 0-0 draw to Fenerbahce and a 1-0 win over Porto. However they lost 1-2 to the same opposition in the return leg.

 

 

On top of this Olexandr Romanchuk has suffered a double fracture of his left leg ruling him out for six moths. Coach Yuri Semin will also be without goalkeeper Olexandr Shovkovskiy, Milos Ninkovic and Taras Mikhalik for this game.
