Togo striker Emmanuel Adebayor is struggling with a hamstring injury, but could feature in live Carling Cup action, provided he passes a late fitness test. Lukasz Fabianski, who has featured only in live League Cup action so far could once again make the starting line-up.

Arsenal were runners-up in this competition having lost 2-1 to Chelsea last season. Theo Walcott's goal was nullified by a brace from star striker Didier Drogba.

Tottenham on the other hand will be itching for revenge after going down 5-3 to Arsenal last year in the League Cup semifinals. Manager Juande Ramos will be keen to make a mark in his first season and many feel that the Carling Cup represents his best chance of taking silverware to White Hart lane this season.

However Ramos will have to deal with a pretty long injury list including Younes Kaboul and Darren Bent, who are out with knee and ankle injuries respectively. The good news for Spurs is that Pascal Chimbonda, Paul Stalteri and Teemu Tainio have resumed training. However Benoit Assou-Ekotto, Gareth Bale and Anthony Gardner continue to be sidelined.
