After defeats in their last three qualifiers, it is make or break time for two time world champions Argentina as they seek to avoid the ignominy of missing out on the World Cup for the first time in four decades. Argentina are currently fifth in the table with 22 points, but are fighting it out with Ecuador, Venezuela, Uruguay and Chile for the two automatic spots that are currently up for grabs. Peru cannot qualify for the World Cup, but they can certainly have a big say in deciding who travels to South Africa next year. In Round 17, Peru were beaten 3-1 by Venezuela, with Nicolas Fedor netting a brace for the winners.

When Peru hosted Argentina last September, the game ended in a 1-1 draw. Inter midfielder Esteban Cambiasso gave Argentina the lead on 82 minutes, but Johan Fano equalised for Peru in the third minute of extra time.
