Algeria currently sit on the third spot in Group C having drawn their only game against Rwanda at Kigali so far. However Coach Rabah Saadane knows that the upcoming matches against Egypt and Zambia will probably determine the side's fate in this round.
Saadane has recalled Yahia Anter to the squad after the latter missed the trip to Rwanda with an injury. Marseille striker Karim Ziani is also back after missing the first game due to suspension. Fawzi Chaouchi has also been called up as a fourth goalkeeper in the squad. Hameur Bouazza, who plays for Birmingham City, is expected to lead his side's attack in these two games.
Meanwhile Egypt top Group C with 1 point from one game thanks to a 1-1 draw against Zambia last time around. Egypt have announced a 28-man squad for this game as well as the upcoming Confederations Cup in South Africa. Mido finds no place in the squad and one of Egypt's coaches, Hamda Soudqi, clarified that it was due to his poor showing while at Wigan Athletic in the Premiership.
Hazem Emam has been called up for the first time, while Ihab Al-Masri has also been included in the squad. Amr Zaki is expected to strike form and guide Egypt to the top of the group.
