Portugal are currently on the brink in Group One of the European qualifying rounds having collected just six points from five games played so far. They are seven points adrift of leaders Denmark and Hungary, who have 13 points each. In their last game in late March against Sweden, Portugal were held to a 0-0 draw as Cristiano Ronaldo missed a gilt-edged chance to put his team ahead.

Portugal boss Carlos Queiroz has not had a good time on his return to the helm and desperately wants his side to win this one. He has recalled Pepe to his squad despite the fact that the defender missed most of the football played over the last two months as he was slapped with a 10-match ban for Real Madrid. Nani is also included despite the fact that he has not played regular first team football for Manchester United.

Meanwhile Albania will look to start afresh under new boss Josip Kuze after Arie Haan stepped down because of poor results. Albania have six points from seven games played so far and need to win this one if they are to have hopes of challenging for a top two finish.
