A comfortable 3-0 win over Sampdoria saw Milan close down the gap at the top of the table to just four points. Marco Borriello opened the scoring in the opening minute of the game while two goals in space of two minutes from Clarence Seedorf and Pato gave Milan a comfortable 3-0 lead before the half time whistle.

With his side set to face a tough set of fixtures in the next few matches, coach Delio Rossi will be hopeful that the win over Cagliari will prove to be the turning point of the season as he looks to build on his side’s eighth placed finish from last season.
