Mighty AC Milan will be looking to extend their 11 game unbeaten streak in all competitions when they meet Portuguese club Sporting Braga in a Group E UEFA Cup match at the San Siro on Thursday. After losing their first two Serie A games to Bologna and Genoa, Milan seem to have got their campaign back on track. They have picked up an amazing 22 points out of a possible 24 in their next eight league fixtures. On Sunday, they beat Napoli 1-0, with German Denis heading into his own goal from a Ronaldinho free kick four minutes from time. With that victory, Milan are currently on top of the Serie A, a feat they last managed to achieve in May 2004. In their opening Group E fixture, Carlo Ancelotti’s men won 3-1 away at Heerenveen, with Calvin Jong-a-Pin ( OG), Filippo Inzaghi and Gennaro Gattuso scoring. Milan will be without the services of midfield playmaker Andrea Pirlo for this game.

 

 

Sporting Braga currently lead Group E on goal difference after beating Portsmouth 3-0 two weeks ago. Luis Aguiar, Wason Renteria and Osorio Alan were on target for Braga, who were branded a bunch of divers by Harry Redknapp after the game. Braga also won their weekend Liga Sagres game, with Cameroon striker Albert Meyong scoring the only goal of the game against Academica de Coimbra. Braga are seven points behind leaders Leixoes in the domestic table. Braga have happy memories of their last European trip to Italy- they knocked Claudio Ranieri’s Parma out of the UEFA Cup with a late goal from Costa Diego.
