AC Milan will be looking to return back to winning ways and maintain pressure on Inter Milan at the top of the table when they welcome Genoa in their first match following the winter break on Wednesday. The Rossoneri lost their final game before the winter break as they suffered a disappointing 2-0 defeat at home to Palermo.  Fabrizio Miccoli and Mark Bresciano were on target for the visitors as Milan failed to capitalize on their possession and put away the chances that came their way.

It was a disappointing defeat for Milan who had won their last five games and were increasingly looking capable of overturning the huge gap between the second and first position at the top of the table. While Inter did manage to restore their eight point lead, Milan do have a chance to reducing it to five having played a game less than their city rivals.

Genoa on the other hand are struggling for form and find themselves outside the top half of the table with nearly half the season gone. The Rossoblu had an excellent last season, finishing fifth in the league but have struggled for consistency this season and have managed just one win in their last four games.
