AC Milan will be looking to put behind their disappointing run in their domestic league and register their second straight victory when they welcome minnows FC Zurich in their next Champions League match this Wednesday. The Italian giants have not had the best start in their Serie A campaign and find themselves eight points off the pace at the top of the league table. However Milan put up a determined performance in their opening match against Marseille to register a narrow 2-1 win a fortnight ago.

Filippo Inzaghi had opened the scoring midway through the first half but Marseille fought back well to equalize through Gabriel Heinze four minutes into the second half. Just when it looked as if both the sides would have to settle for a point each, Inzaghi scored the winner 16 minutes from the final whistle to give his side a deserved win.

With his side not expected to collect any points against Real Madrid in the double header, Milan coach Leonardo will be hoping to collect maximum points from the game against Zurich that will put them within touching distance of progressing to the next round.

Zurich on the other hand will be hoping to avoid another thrashing after suffering a heavy 5-2 defeat against Real Madrid in their opening game. Goals from Cristiano Ronaldo, Raul and Gonzalo Higuain had given Madrid a comfortable 3-0 lead at half time but Zurich fought back admirably to reduce the deficit to just one goal thanks to strikes from Xavier Margairaz and Silvan Aegerter only for Ronaldo and Guti who ensured that there were no late equalizers from the Swiss champions.

Zurich and Milan both played each other last season with the Italian club winning their home game 3-1 thanks to an own goal by Florian Stahel while Pato and Marco Borriello were also on target.
