AC Milan kick-off their quest for the Italian Serie A title on Sunday at the San Siro against newcomers Bologna in a match that can be watched live online via Live Sport Networks live streaming football.

Milan had a poor season last time round, finishing fifth in the league and missing out on a coveted Champions League spot, while also watching neighbours and fierce rivals Inter Milan clinch the title for the third season in a row.

Quite how a team of Milan’s stature didn’t qualify for the Champions League is a mystery, considering how they actually won the competition in the 2006-2007 season; their very passionate supporters will not settle for a similar season to last.

The team have been busy in the close season with a number of high profile acquisitions arriving at the club. Most notably Brazilian superstar Ronaldinho arrival raised a few eyebrows, especially considering Milan do not have any Champions League football to offer the player this season. But with the arrivals of Shevchenko, Philippe Senderos and Mathieu Flamini adding to the already impressive squad led by Kaka, Milan’s intentions become very clear and it appears they want to mount a sustained challenge on city rivals Inter for the Serie A crown.

On the injury front, Milan will be missing Kaka from the opener while forward Marco Borriello is out of action for another month at least with torn cartilage in his right knee. Bologna may find this fixture a little too hot to handle on their reappearance to Serie A and will hope to contain Milan rather than go for a surprise result; a draw being a fantastic achievement if they can get it.
